Technically, there's 2 sequels but in my mind there's only BHC 1 and 2. 3 is bad fanfiction.

This was the start of the big Action Comedy movie. That combination hasn’t been done.

This is the movie I refer to when discussing the importance, or lack thereof in its case, of historical accuracy in movies... While not historically accurate, it is a very well done sports movie... Well acted, well paced, and, most importantly, very inspirational... ... it's bc 10 year old me saw this movie that I have any concern about the sport of bobsledding (my favorite winter Olympic sport next to hockey) and why, when Jamaica manages to make it, I root for them... Historical accuracy doesn't resonate with someone for 30 years, but an inspirational movie about overcoming adversity, working as a team, and being proud of one's efforts regardless of outcome... That will stick with you for life.

The level of detail that has gone into the making of this series is off the charts. Love the reaction vidios. It's good to hear your views on the story and what you think is going to happen.

Another heart-warming film about an underdog at the Olympics is Eddie the Eagle. A 2016 film about Britain's first Olympic ski jumper.

My uncle lived beside John Candy's mother in St. Catherine's Ontario. Every time John would visit his mother he would order 40 pizzas for all the neighbors. Such a great guy, sorely missed.

As someone who fondly remembers the Jamaican bobsled entry in the Calgary Olympics you should know that the interviewee who said that this movie was only about 1% factual is I think grossly exaggerating. That may have been an insiders perspective, but from the perspective of someone on the sidelines there is very little about the movie that doesn't jive with public perception. I think it should also be pointed out that although there were comical moments in the movie it was much more a reflection of what really happened than an attempt to turn this into a comedy. And it in fact is better described as a light drama loosely based on factual events. this to my understanding would make it one of only two movies where John Candy played it straight, the other being as you noted JFK.

I would like to recommend the John Candy Movie the Great Outdoors, it's a good summer movie.

Poor maintenance. You never seen one crash because people maintain their stuff. They instead seemed to be happy with the Adidas stuff.

I seriously doubt that Sheriff Teasle will win the next election? He harassed a national hero, winner of the Congressional Medal Of Honor, which ended up burning down half of the town, putting many people out of business and unemployed. But hey, he did prevent that war hero from having breakfast in their quaint little town. Way to go Sheriff Teasle, you won’t even be able to win dog catcher in the next election. You can at least be sure that his career in law enforcement is over once the story hits the papers.

I've probably seen this movie about 20 to 50 times throughout my life.

I think in the end it doesn't matter weather the won or not. That's why it said they return as equals instead of and they got gold.

I find it hilarious that his name is Yul Brynner. Yul was actually a good actor in movies like Westworld and The King and I a while back who was also bald, so it always makes me chuckle that that was his name in this, lol.

Another Candy film to see: Canadian Bacon. A great war comedy

A much overlooked movie you should watch/react to is "Splash" starring John Candy and Tom Hanks directed by Ron Howard. It's a movie that was early on in their film careers. PLEASE WATCH IT!!

It was the 1988 Olympics and there really was a Jamaican bobsled team there, but the Irv Blitzer character (and his backstory) was entirely fictional.

They filmed the entire ceremony with a genuine Romanian Orthodox minister and realized afterwards that Winona & Keanu may have really been married to each other.

Country music is HUGE in Alberta. The entire province is basically Montana.

Did you watch The Blues Brothers? John Candy is in it.

So fun fact about this movie. Its barely accurate to the real story. But the real bobsleders wanted that way, and approved it. In real life, no one gave them crap, or made fun of. Actually they were welcomed.
